いや脚が間に合わなかった未完成品よ
むしろ後々の公式書籍なんかで最初から脚が無い状態が完成形で
脚無しだと予算通らないからスレ画をダミープランで提出したってのもあった
そのノベルだとシャアと話した整備兵こそが元ジオニックのジオング開発者本人

整備兵は現状で100%いけるって言ってるから調整率って指摘は無理がある
足ねえじゃんに対してあんなもんは飾り！お偉方はわかってない！って返してるってことは少なくともお偉方は足が無い状態の事を未完成って言ってるわけだし

もう３０年以上その辺は言われてるから
３０年以上返されてるのが四肢のAMBAC機動
スラスター制御だとそれだけ推進剤必要なんで継戦能力は低い
って設定でMSは宇宙でも人型ロボットなんだよ
納得できなくてもそういう世界観だから

最終回の初期案ではジオングが剣を持っていて最後ガンダムと相討ちになるってバージョンもあったらしい。
その剣も含めての未完成と思うんだ。

戦艦大和も秘密兵器で国家威信の象徴だったせいで上層部が喪失を恐れて「使う」ってことに責任とりたくなくて温存し続けた結果、沖縄特攻にぶっこむしかない状況に追い込まれてたからな。（しかも井上に責任押し付けた厄介払い）
ジオングはもうちょっとマシな状況だろうけど・・・キシリア的には機体も乗り手も始末する厄介払いだったのかもね。

単純に宇宙専用の高機動サイコミュ搭載機を作りたいのならビグロタイプにブラウ・ブロの有線式砲台を付ければ良いだけの話

当初の計画では宇宙でも地上でも運用できる通常サイズのNT専用MSを作ろうとしたが、色々無理があったのでひとまず断念した
ジオングはあくまで妥協の結果としてあの形で完成したに過ぎない

ザクベースのサイコミュ試験機は足ありと足なしがあるけど、足なしはジオングの未完成形を想定してないと出てこない形のように思う
もしくは逆にこの足なしがあったからジオングも足なしでいけるだろうとなったのだろうか

スラスタープランと脚付きプランの二つがあって採用されたのは前者、という設定だだろ
未完成なのは脚じゃなくて腕部装甲がないからだ

まあ最初からちゃんとMSとして作ってたのは歴代MAの異形っぷりを見れば分かるよ。脚を1から作るよりバーニア詰めた他が早いだろうし脚付けてもスカートの長さとかで大した動き出来なかったろうしな…

3倍どころか、本体重量が2倍以上にハネ上がってるからむしろ機動性低下するぞ
ちなみに全備重量じゃなくて本体重量な
機体設定からして「あの時のジオンには装甲材も時間も技術も足りずプラン通りに完成させられるかは疑わしい」という設定だし
