可変は空を飛べるのに意味があったからビームローターみたいなのやミノフラやミノクラが広まったら要らなくなる

メタ視点でもガンプラの金型コストがかかりすぎるとかそんなのもあるんじゃね？
作中世界のMSとしてもメタ視点のプラモデルとしても製造コストがかかりすぎるわりに元が取れないような機体はいらんってことや

可変機はそのぶん余計な機構が付くからコストダウン、軽量化、頑丈さには反する体系
逆シャア期のMSが大型化と先祖返りを同時に行ってたことからすると、ジェネレータの大型化に重点を置いたことで上の3項目を使って高度のままバランスを取ろうとしたんじゃないかな
