異例の早さで再放送が決まる程、放送終盤辺りのガンダム熱は凄かったらしいな
で、コレが死ぬ程売れてクローバー社の最高収益年度になったとか

まぁその後が続かなくて数年後に倒産するんだが、それを何故かコレのせいにされてる訳で…

これが売れたから、打ち切り決まってたのをやはり延長しろと言い出すクローバー。
でも、当時製作に関わってたスタッフは軒並み他の外注アニメに回されて、わずかに残ったスタッフは地獄を見たそうな。
やっさんもその前にリタイアしてたしね。

コンセプト自体は翌年のトライダーG7に受け継がれるしな
次のダイオージャで王道合体ロボに戻ってその次のザブングルで複数ロボ体制
最後のダンバインでパワードスーツ系ロボ＋フィギュアって形式に挑戦するも放送中に倒産

意外とチャレンジブルなんだよな
実際に玩具作ってたのはタカラらしいからTFや勇者ロボの遠い親戚みたいな存在ではある
