ククルス・ドアン（cv.武内駿輔）
30代半ばにしてジオン公国の地上侵攻部隊「サザンクロス隊」を率いていた、並外れた腕前を持つパイロット。
しかし、作戦中に突如として失踪。無人島にザクと共に隠れ住むという。
ドアンの住む無人島に偵察に出たものは決して戻らないことから「帰らずの島」と呼ばれる。
マ・クベの策謀により、新隊員を加えたサザンクロス隊を招集、ククルス・ドアン抹殺任務が下された。
かつての部下たちが駆る最新鋭のザクを相手に、ドアンは改修を繰り返した異形のザクで立ち向かう。

宇宙世紀に一年戦争時のエピソードとして小説「ククルス・ドアンの島」が書かれて
後にそれを元にした映画が作られた
くらいに考えるとイケおじ化や盛りに盛りまくった設定なんかも飲み込みやすい気がしてきた
