昔見たボトムズのマンガで物資の乏しい基地防衛でATのマシンガンを車に固定して
兵士が両腕で抱え込むようにしてトリガーを引いて撃ってたシーンが印象に残っているな

サブアームでも撃てるようにしたい時には汎用コネクタとトリガーが選べると設計上は楽かもね

既に存在してる武器がその仕組みなら、新型は旧型から借りたり敵から奪ったりで自機も使えるメリットがある。
iPhoneやゲームソフトみたいに専用規格じゃないと使えませんってなると他の規格で作られた武器が使えなくなる。
急遽数合わせが必要になる野良戦場ではまぁまぁ理に敵ってる。
人の手の形ではなく作業用重機の継手部分と考えれば解りやすい。

もっと解りやすく言えば、車でパンクしたときに対処できないとなり、立ち寄ってくれた他車のスペアタイヤが履ければそれが一番の解決策だろう。
一緒にスタンドやタイヤ屋まで走ってもらって返せば現場に何も残さないで済む。

普通の人間兵士が手にした銃を感覚で撃つのとは違って
MSに持たせるほどの兵器なら常に状態を監視したり電力などを供給したり兵器ごとに違う弾道の癖や残弾数やリロードするなら挿入口はどこで、どのマガジンを使えばいいかとか
手にした瞬間にコンピューターが判断できるようにしないとな

手の構造を共用化していれば同じ機体だけじゃなく全く違う機種にも搭載可能だし、射撃管制プログラムが指や腕の動きをで火器を制御するようにすれば種類の違う火器を一つのプログラムで制御可能だからそこまで非効率でもないだろ。
バズーカやライフルなど複数の火器を一つの機体に装備できるって言う歩兵と同じ利点を持っている以上コネクターで直接接続とか武器交換に手間のかかる仕様にしてそれを潰すのは勿体ない。

これはもう擁護も議論の余地もない　はっきり言って「無駄」なんだよ
（巨大化した銃を巨大化した義手で物理的にコントロールすることの無意味さ）
銃を撃つという描写が体感的に伝わるという絵的なメリットだけ
要は演出の問題だから絵としてはある方がいい　でも機械構造的には無くてもいい
ガンダムは「ロボットまんが」のころからの
伝統芸・様式美の塊になってしまったから、ある意味仕方がないけど
これから先のロボット作品には必要ない機構だと思う
