    出力などはガンダムの8割のスペック
    駆動系のパワーは一応ガンダムと同等
    装甲は盾のみガンダムと同じ
    ビームスプレーガンの威力と射程はライフルより下、弾数と連射性能は上
    センサー距離はガンダムより上（近接戦でのセンサー性能はガンダムが上）
    推力重量比はジムが上（ガンダムにはガス圧ダムがあるのでジャンプ力は同等以下）
    高品質パーツのおかげで耐久性・信頼性はガンダムが圧倒的に上
    その他あらゆる状況への対応力はガンダムが圧倒的に上

    ファースト当時の設定では基本的にガンダムの量産型だからガンダムと同等性能だと思うよ
    装甲はルナチタニウムで同じ。武器は射程で劣り、命中精度と弾数で勝る
    性能が上の部分もあれば下の部分もあるが、基本的に不要な部分（性能）が取り払われてる
    ガンダムが強い理由はジャブローあたりまでは基本的にガンダムの性能、それ以降はアムロの実力なんだよ

    細かいスペックの数字がどうとか本当はどうでもいいと思うけどな
    例えばザク、ガンダムと交戦した時には武器が通用せず全く歯が立たなかったわけだけど
    終戦まであのまんまなわけがないんだよね
    少なくとも、ザクマシンガンの弾頭は連邦のMSの装甲を抜ける位のもんに変えられただろう
    そんな事はどこの設定にも書かれてないけどｗ

    でも初代劇中で、ザクマシンガンの弾丸がジムに効いてるって場面も無かったかと
    マシンガンのストックでジムのゴーグルを割る場面があるけど、これは撃っても効かないから格闘戦に持ち込んだとも取れる
    ドムもメインの武器がバズーカだから、ザクもＭＳ相手はバズーカに切り替えてるかも

    ジムの装甲はチタン合金でルナチタではない
    （シールドはルナチタだが一部は間に合せで作られたチタン合金のものも存在する）

    ビームスプレーガンは銃身が短く低出力で撃てる分収束率が低いので命中精度はライフルより劣る（銃身の短い拳銃やサブマシンガンがライフル銃より集弾性能が下がるのと同じ）

    ZZ終了後くらいに発売されたボードシミュレーションゲームだと、ドムの最も装甲が薄い箇所であるコクピットにビームスプレーガンを直撃させても装甲を抜けない程度の強さだったな。
    結局、接近戦に持ち込んでビームサーベルで相打ち（ジムは撃破、ドムは移動不能）にしたけど。
    めぐりあい宇宙でリックドムを倒しているジムもビームサーベルで倒していたし、当時のイメージではグフ以上、ドム以下という感じで、第二次世界大戦時のシャーマン同様、スペックで上回る敵を数で集団戦法で倒す機体という印象だったかと。
    ギレンの野望あたりから、ゲームバランスの都合もあってジム（というかビームスプレーガン）が強くなって、一般の印象が変わっていった気がする。

    ジム自体はかなり優秀な機体だけど、今まで戦闘機やら乗ってた奴がめちゃくちゃ短い訓練で実戦だもんな。そりゃ性能をフルに発揮できんよ。

    パイロットに関しちゃMS開発と共にノウハウ積み重ねて学徒兵にも教練課してたジオンと
    MSそのものが最近までなかった連邦じゃ比べ物にならないだろ
    ジムの性能で何とか戦えるまでにしただけでね

    それ考えたらジムはかなり優秀で、同じ腕のパイロットなら・・・ってなる

    今でこそ後付けで結構前から連邦にもMSがあった事になってるけど、本編ではそうじゃないでしょ

    ジムとザクは設定がコロコロ変わるから元ネタをどこから引っ張って来るかで全然別物になるし・・・
    ジムに至っては見た目同じでも初期と後期じゃ違うんだ！勢まで沸いてくるから本当に収集つかなくなるというｗ

    アレは基本ジオン側がPC想定して作られてるせいもあるが、戦場にジムが一機出てきたらザクだけの小隊だと数機は犠牲になるの覚悟しろ、というレベルの頑丈さ（ザクマシンガンとかマジで豆鉄砲でダメージ与えられない）というな

    初代劇中ではビグザムにビームスプレーガンが効かない事に驚いてる
    つまり普通の敵には効くと言う事だし、リックドムやザクを撃破してソロモン内部に侵攻していった部隊だから、実情を知らないわけでもない
    それまでの戦闘ではボールがやられたりはしてるけど、ジムが苦戦してるとか、よく言われるように数でゴリ押ししてると言う描写も無い
    ボールパイロットの「（ビグザム以外は）リックドムとザクしかいない。やるぞ」とか何とか言うセリフもあるし、リックドムはそれほどの強敵では無いと解釈できる

    個の性能よりも連邦の物量を最大限に活かした集団での強さを発揮する機体。
    それでも個でザクを軽く凌駕して、ドムとも十分に渡り合える。

    故に軍縮が進んだ戦後ではその個性を活かした運用がなされず、パッとしなくなる系列機という風に思ってた

    ファースト劇中の描写と、後付設定を無視した場合の個人的印象としては
    初期ガンダムを100としたら、GMは110
    ガンダムもバージョンアップするだろうからジャブローあたりで110
    ザクは60→70、グフやドムは70から80くらい、ゲルググやギャンは120

    それは自軍が優勢なのを過信したボールのパイロットの死亡フラグ的な慢心台詞であって、別にMSの性能（ましてやスプレーガンの性能）とかを考慮した台詞ではないでしょ。
    この後のGMの性能も十分把握しているであろうア・バオア・クー戦で、キシリアがドムとゲルググの働きが目立たないことを気にしているのをみると、脚本的には寧ろGMに対して性能的に優位だと捉えた方が自然だと思うけど。
