特にそんな設定は無かったと思うけど試作2号機が開発された要因ってマ・クベのオデッサでの水爆使用とか末期のサイド6への核攻撃未遂とかジオンが暴走したからなんじゃないかなって思う…

MSが単体で運用できる核兵器なんてそうそうないよ
ジオンが開戦と同時にやっちゃえでC型ザクの核とスレ画あとは設定だけミサイル搭載可能な機体がいるくらい
だからCCAでは艦隊から撃つしかなかった

あと逆シャアの場合核ミサイル当てる対象が特別だからね
ミサイルに入れてるのが逆に意表をつけたし

オーストラリアはほぼ無人化して植生も再生が見込めないくらい破壊されてるから、
GP02のテストを核実験まで含めてやろうとしたってのはまあ推察できる

ただ核実験直前って訳でもないのに弾頭装着したのと、ガトーがあんだけすんなり内部に入り込めたのはちょっとオービル一人の尽力に帰するには連邦ガバガバ過ぎませんかね…

本来の核ミサイルは広大な宇宙空間では威力の高いミサイルに過ぎない
実際ザクが運用していたのはザクバズーカに装填して戦艦一隻を沈められる程度の物
連邦の艦隊も同じく核で武装していたという設定もある
もちろんコロニーに使えば一発で壊滅させられるし地球での使用は論外なので南極条約で禁止された
GP02が使用した新型核は多少密集していたとはいえ一発で艦隊を壊滅させる代物なのでそれまでの核兵器とは根本的に異なる
