むしろアルビオンに帰還してから爆発したり

俺当時子供でこの巻から見たから（当時は1巻とかの概念がなくてパッケージで決めてた）
めっちゃ強い人が死んだ悲しいシーンなんだなと思ったが
成長して全部見たら初っ端からドム相手にけがして戦わずに復帰戦で即死んでてなんじゃこれだった同時に動かすのは五人が限界っていうし正直持て余してたんだろうなと

別に船体に影響出るほど接近して爆発とかじゃなくてもええんよ。半端に遠くで爆発するよりもうすぐ着艦できそうとかで爆発させた方があと少し保てば助かってたのに…とかでよけいにやるせなくなるやん？

当時からして唖然とした話だったけど、むしろ死因はシーマのゲルググの腕部速射砲が原因だと思う。
シーマ機のライフルを前もって装備させていたサーベルで両断、その後シーマは速射砲を乱射し距離を取る。それをシールドで受けるが、シールドはそれで爆散。受け漏らした弾がたまたまジムカスタムの右わき腹に着弾する。
そもそも、速射砲を盾で受けると(貫通力が高ければ)穴だらけになるはずが、シールドは爆散して粉々になった。つまり110ミリ速射砲には炸薬弾頭が仕込まれていたのではないかと言う推測が成り立つ。
シールドに比べると本体の装甲厚は薄い。シールドは着弾して爆発したが、本体には着弾しても貫通して内部の機械に食い込んでしまった。そして内部機械のショートに伴って弾頭が爆発。これが自分にとって一番納得のいく推測です。
ほら、スタッフはボトムズ組が多いし「自爆、誘爆、ご用心」ですよ。
因みにゲルググMの速射砲はGP01の一次装甲を破壊して内部にもダメージを与えている。着弾した時に爆発エフェクトもあるので炸薬が仕込まれていると考えた方が分かりやすい。
