というか現実の宇宙戦争だと、ガンダムでよくあるような反航戦じゃ相対速度的に一撃離脱しか成立せん気もするが。

そういうやつは銀河英雄伝説見れば良いよ逆にMS不要とか言い出すから
逆シャアなんかνガンダム以外はほとんど艦隊戦で戦局決めてて
ネオジオンがダミー艦隊で楽々アクシズ占拠して隕石落とししようとしてる部分なんか
ほとんど戦艦の仕事でしょ

CCAは戦艦をきっちり描写してる多分唯一のガンダムなんじゃね
戦艦の厚い対空弾幕にMSが迂闊に近付いたらどうなるかもしっかり描写してた

戦艦は装甲も固いが弾幕防御だからな。
そもそも近づけるのがエースとか大勢で攻めてる時だけだし
オットー艦長も計算できてなくてもとにかく射ちまくれって焦ったし。

CVは駆逐艦を所有してたなー。ザムス・ナーダだっけ
カタパルトはないけど両舷上下に1機ずつMS整備兼出撃ベッドを装備した艦船。
比較的平和な時期で、居るとしたら型落ちMSが主力のイラついた暴徒や
ヒャッハーして物資奪いたいだけの宇宙海賊相手なら足の速い駆逐艦でさっと駆けつけて
搭載してる主力MSでサクッと蹴散らせばスペースノイドの好感度も
ちったぁ上がりそうだけど連邦はそういうの作んなかったね

推進剤とかが切れないならなくて良さそうだけど宇宙空間で活動するには推進剤は必須
じゃ推進剤沢山積めばいいじゃんってなるだろうけど
推進剤の量を増やすと移動に使うための推進剤が増えるので
瞬発力の低下と活動時間の低下を招く
なので戦艦は必須、そして前線に近いのも推進剤がなくなった機体を回収する為にも
そこらへんに居ないとミゴロシになっちまう
ガス欠一歩手前でガソスタ無いと不安になるだろ？

MSを搭載する戦闘艦はMSを指揮する役目もあるから戦場を離れるわけにはいかんのよね

あの世界でも主人公クラスの特殊な奴が特殊な機体使ってるから敵艦を落としまくれるけど、そんなのはイレギュラーな事態だし、本来なら、お互いにMSを出して戦わせて、その後ろから掠っただけでアウトってレベルの高火力の主砲でMSの援護したり、あるいは、近場に拠点がない宙域なら敵の母艦をすべて沈めて相手を投降せざるを得ない状況においこんだりって役目があるし、あの世界でも艦艇の武装は超重要。

今は公式になってしまった同人誌（ガンダムセンチュリー）まで時代を戻せば、母艦は必須になる。アニメでなくイラストと文章だけだったことが幸いして、MSが宇宙空間で無限にアクション出来るかのような描写が無い。MSに詰める推進剤は限りが有るうえ、放熱できない宇宙では母艦での冷却が必須。

そういえば、ぬえの人は外人に「なんで日本の宇宙メカには放熱板がないのだ」とよく聞かれたらしい。
