それを描けるアニメーターを監督が自前の人脈で揃えたからできたというのもあるんだろうけど
ふつうに考えるとあれだけメカデザイナーいて特徴違う機体だらけって相当製作大変だろうな

ダブルオーはデザイン等発表時から放送まで
メカデザビーダマンww、キャラデザヤオイ同人誌出身作家ww、キャラ名刹那Ｆセイエイにロックオンストラトスww
とバカにされまくったんだよなあ。

それらは実際の放送で払拭していくんだけど、個人的にはメカものに高河ゆんキャラデザがハマったのがかなりの驚きだった。

ザコメカの立ち位置でも太陽炉があれば実質ガンダムなのがユニーク
お陰でスパロボだと刹那が太陽炉特効で武神のごとく無双し、続編だとガンダム特効に変更されたがネームドは大体ガンダムなのでエースキラーになる

アニメに登場した後で(サプライズ要素でいきなり登場したので放送前はデザイン未公開)Oガンダムのデザイン見て、ガワラさんガンダムの顔もう描けんやろ・・・と思ったな。
その後、少し持ち直したけど、やっぱ少し変なんよな。
